Are You Asleep? It's Time to Wake
Scripture text: Mark 14:32 - 41, Psalms 105:4
Jesus took his disciples with him to a place called Gethsemane and asked them to sit. He took Peter, James, and John a little further with him and as he became troubled and distressed he asked them to "tarry ye here, and watch." Mark 14:33 The word watch means to keep awake, to give strict attention to, to be cautious. He went a little further and fell on the ground praying. When he returned to the disciples he found them sleeping. He says "Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?" Mark 14:37
Are you asleep? The harvest is ripe and the labours are few and the Lord has placed you and I here to watch and pray. We are to watch not only for others but aslo for ourselves that we enter not into temptation. The bible says "The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak." Mark 14:38
Awake my friends! Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:" Isaiah 55:6 For those who seek the Lord shall find him if you seek with all your heart (Deuteronomy 4:29).

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus forgive me for seeking things and solutions. I sometimes get so preoccupied with my own life situations and finding solutions for my situations that I forget to just seek your face for a closer relationship. Help me to change my focus today. Help me to seek your face Father and to look to you for strength to continue this journey. Help me to seek your face to just to know you better. Lord teach me to look to you first and to always seek you before I seek things from you. Thank you Lord for the ability to seek you and to trust you. For I know that I shall find you when I seek you with all my heart. Amen!
